MLS kicks off tonight

It's been interesting to see the growth of Major League Soccer over the years. Kicking off in 1996 with no one giving it much of a chance to succeed, MLS enters its 14th season tonight as the expansion Seattle Sounders host the New York Red Bulls.

The health and success of MLS is important to an organization like ours because it provides motivation to our kids. Ricardo Clark, who participated in a Soccer in the Streets program in Jonesboro, GA, stars for the Houston Dynamo. Macoumba Kandji, who many of our participants met while he was with the Atlanta Silverbacks, will be playing for the Red Bulls tonight. These role models inspire our kids and they are desperately needed.

Support your league, watch the game tonight on ESPN2 at 9:00 Eastern.
